Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of Manuscript IQ, operated by Zou Zou Media House ("we", "us", or "our"). By accessing or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. Description of Service

Manuscript IQ is an AI-powered book analysis tool that evaluates manuscripts and book covers against professional publishing standards. The Service provides scores, feedback, and recommendations to help authors prepare their books for publication. Results are informational and do not constitute professional editorial, legal, or publishing advice.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 16 years of age to use the Service. By using the Service, you represent and warrant that you meet this requirement and that you have the legal capacity to enter into these Terms.

3. Account Registration

Some features require account registration. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. You agree to notify us immediately of any unauthorised use of your account at [email protected].

4. Payments and Refunds

• All payments are processed securely by Stripe. By making a purchase, you agree to Stripe’s Terms of Service.
• Prices are listed in USD and are subject to change without notice. The price displayed at checkout is the price you will be charged.

Pay-Per-Report Purchases (Deep Analysis, Rush Analysis)

• Pay-per-report purchases are for digital analysis reports that are generated and delivered immediately upon payment confirmation.
• Because the digital report is generated and delivered at the moment of purchase, all pay-per-report sales are final and non-refundable once the analysis has been initiated or delivered.
• Exception — technical failure: If a technical error on our end prevents delivery of your paid report, you are entitled to either (a) a re-generation of the report at no charge, or (b) a full refund. You must contact us within 7 days of purchase at [email protected] to request a resolution.
• Exception — duplicate charge: If you were charged more than once for the same report due to a payment processing error, contact us within 7 days and we will issue a refund for the duplicate charge.

Subscription Plans (Author Max, Author Pro)

• Subscription plans are billed monthly in advance. You may cancel your subscription at any time from your account dashboard.
• Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. You will retain full access to all subscription features until the end of the period you have already paid for.
• No partial refunds are issued for unused days or unused scan credits within a billing period.
• If you cancel within 24 hours of your initial subscription purchase and have not used any subscription scans, you may request a full refund by contacting [email protected].
• Subscription renewals are charged automatically on the same day each month. You will receive a renewal reminder by email at least 3 days before each charge.

How to Request a Refund

• Email [email protected] with the subject line “Refund Request”, your order confirmation number, and a brief description of the issue.
• Eligible refunds are processed within 5–10 business days to your original payment method.
• Refund eligibility is assessed on a case-by-case basis. We reserve the right to decline refund requests that do not meet the criteria above.
• Nothing in this policy limits your rights under applicable consumer protection legislation, including the Consumer Protection Act, 2002 (Ontario) or equivalent provincial or federal legislation in Canada.

5. Intellectual Property

Your content: You retain all ownership rights to your uploaded manuscripts, cover images, and any other content you submit. By uploading content, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to process your content solely for the purpose of providing the Service. We do not claim ownership of your work.

Our content: The Manuscript IQ platform, including its design, software, scoring algorithms, and written content, is owned by Zou Zou Media House and protected by copyright and intellectual property laws. You may not copy, reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works without our express written permission.

6. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Upload content that infringes third-party intellectual property rights.
• Upload content that is unlawful, harmful, threatening, abusive, defamatory, or obscene.
• Attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, or extract our scoring algorithms or proprietary data.
• Use the Service to train competing AI models.
• Circumvent any access controls or security measures.
• Use automated tools to access the Service at a rate that disrupts normal operation.

7. Disclaimers

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR THAT ANALYSIS RESULTS WILL BE ACCURATE OR COMPLETE. ANALYSIS RESULTS ARE INFORMATIONAL ONLY AND DO NOT GUARANTEE ACCEPTANCE BY ANY PUBLISHER, BOOKSTORE, AWARD COMMITTEE, OR DISTRIBUTION PLATFORM.

8. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, ZOU ZOU MEDIA HOUSE SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE, INCLUDING LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, OR GOODWILL. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY TO YOU FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING FROM THESE TERMS OR THE SERVICE SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID TO US IN THE 12 MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM.

9. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Zou Zou Media House, its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including legal fees) arising from your use of the Service, your content, or your violation of these Terms.

10. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account and access to the Service at our discretion, with or without notice, if we believe you have violated these Terms or applicable law. You may delete your account at any time from your Dashboard.

11. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario, Canada, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Ontario, Canada.

12. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated Terms with a new "Last updated" date. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
